Shaping the Way We Teach Video Series has
been a very useful tool for ESL/EFL teachers, and so it was through the two
Didactics; however, the application of these videos through the usage of
Nicenet was not so recommendable because most of students just watched the
video and did not analize the questions which were required on it. These video
series activity was really nice because we could appreciate the different
stages, methodologies, tools, and so forth, that teachers use in other
contexts. Unfortunately, the contexts presented in most of the videos are a
world distant from our reality.
On the other hand, in other to provide a different usage of these video series of “Shaping the Way We Teach,” here are some suggestions about other ways to use these video series:

1. VIDEO - PROJECT PRESENTATION

In the video – project presentation,
students can be asked to create their own video from 5 to 10 minutes about a
specific topic as it is presented in the videos of “Shaping the Way We Teach,”
then, students will be asked to present their project in the class as well as
comparing the video segment in discussion with their own project. As a result,
with this activity the teacher will be sure that students are not only watching
the videos, but also they are creating, planning, and analizing their own
project.
We consider that this standard can be helpful if a teacher wants to create a collaborative learning, and wants to use technology in the class. Undoubtless, we will take this activity in our own performance in the future because most of students, nowadays, have a huge creativity when creating their own videos, so they will also have fun, which is also another purpose for all the teachers.
Here is one example of our idea:

2. DRAMAS

As we all know, dramas have such enormous
relevance in this 21st century because in this way, teachers can
create and inductive learning since students prepare by themselves their own
scripts, scenarios, characterization, and even farther, create their own music
to add in the
I really recommend the usage of Shaping the Way We Teach Modules by incorporating them in dramas in all ESL classrooms. However, I will incorporated in a different method since the reality from the U.S is an abyss different from our reality, so I will make my students create their own dramas , but applying them in our reality plus their experiences in their teaching practicum by mentioning if the modules have helped them to improve their English and teaching skills.

In addition, this activity will provide a teacher
how much success the students are having in their teaching practice, as well as
how much critical thinking students can develop by analyzing and
contextualizing their own reality.
